Mediocre

Risk.
Who needs it?
Give me the stale, lifeless
stack of expected.
I love to wallow
in the rank leavings
of everyone that
has ever come
before me.
Like the pig that I am.

I just finished grading a bunch of essays from ECP. Those, coupled with all of the mediocre people that I know made me think of this. Edward knows what I'm talking about in regards to ECP. I feel that this is mediocre...at best.

I know it too well. It's almost 4:00 am, I just finished grades for 4 of my 5 classes, and I'm too tired to finish the final class, let alone partake in the faculty development class I'm enrolled in or write a Monday poem. I may be absent for the better part of this week, poets. My apologies.

I really like this poem from beginning to end. It really speaks for people in general or for how jaded I am.
