It doesn't pay the bills
That slowly stack on the kitchen table.
The hot water runs cold
And the lights go out,
While the phone mimics the situation.
An eviction notice hangs on the front door
And the car's hooked up for a tow.
Its hue is fool's gold,
But I wouldn't trade it for anything.

The power of silence is utterly amazing. I really like the last lines. It's hue is fool's gold is so interesting. It seems to be worth more than it is, but then again you wouldn't trade it for anything so there is a strong worth there. Thought provoking stuff Ace.
