GOB

His namesake would be proud.
This modern day wizard survived
backside shivs
from poison blooded family ties,
tricksters pocketing one-eyed jacks,
sly foxes disguised in monkey suits,
gentlemen of the night playing bad cop/worse cop,
ogres cloaked and hooded in white,
and one analrapist obsessed wife,
all wide-eyed and foaming
whining and bitching for a front row seat
to his final countdown.

Been rewatching Arrested Development on Netflix. GOB is my favorite Bluth.

What I love about Arrested Development is that you could probably write a poem about every character with all the idiosyncrasies of each. Every character is extremely well developed if "well" is the apt word.

Your poem is a fitting tribute to a terrific character. All the veiled references are reminiscent fo how the show played out itself and you've barely touched the surface here with Gob (i.e. "huge mistake," Marta, etc.). I smiled at the last line while humming the song in my head. For comedic purposes, he was the best Bluth and I can't wait for the movie.
