throwaway. I was trying to say something about how the political left is far more meek, innocent, and merciful--the primary traits blessed by the Beatitudes--than the religious right. Also, something about how the lessons offered in the Beatitudes seem to have been forgotten, despite, in my opinion, being a central component of Christian ideology.
