Politics

The children are bickering
again.
They chirp
back and forth.
Volleying
blame
and hatred
and pride.

It's been a long
car ride.
It's hot,
the windows
won't roll down
and you're exhausted.

You'd love to turn
the car around.
you'd love to
shut them up.
You long for silence,
but they're the ones driving.

I just thought of this right now, but I like the idea. I need to develop it a bit more.

I like the metaphor and there is a fittingly claustrophobic feeling, especially in the second stanza which I find the most powerful.
