Triforce

I've traveled the
plains of Hyrule.
Slogged through
her deserts,
caressed her beaches.

I've fought
with boomerang
and wooden sword.
Slaying Octorocks.
Feeding streams
of smoke into
Dodongo.

I need no map.
The way is imprinted
in my brain,
on the back of my eyelids.

Even now.
After 23 years,
the songs of fairies
call my name,
and I find myself
wandering through
dungeons,
collecting Triforce pieces
like they were letters
from a long ago lover.

So, I had planned on writing something profound and awe inspiring. Then I downloaded Zelda for the Wii, and this is what I came up with. It's slightly depressing that this came out 23 years ago now.

I Love ZELDA! I had a serious addiction to it. I really like the newer games but played the old one too.

I thought this pom had great irony like Edward's poem. Had I not understood the references, I would have still believed in the poem's allusion to quest and hero just the same. You really capture the element of escape and how the player can feel as if she is part of a separate world filled with demands and conquest. I just love the way you made the terminology of the game so poetic. This was cool.
