The Statue of Liberty

A Monument commemorates a revolutionary movement:

Iron skeletal armature, an added layer of sculpted copper
conceals her infrastructure.

--A Flame
--A Crown
--A Tablet

An electrolytic reaction to moisture on her copper surface gives way to age: streaks on her neck, and a discoloration of her face.

A comforting mother figure.
A symbol of human aspiration precluding that every curve and slant in her physicality is suggestive of Freedom.

A Presidential Proclamation
Declares She a Monument

A Face of Monumental Proportions:
Ringlets of curled hair frame Her Face and an acquiline nose
points
to
The heart-shaped curves of Her lips.

--The Seven Rays above Her Crown
--The Band of Twenty-Five Windows below the Crown
--A Figure beneath layers of Gown, carved copper.

The Graffitied Body: pervasive poverty and internal exile mark the violations against Her.

The Figure Advances:
The Classical Contrapposto Pose:
A monument commemorating movement, a revolution.

This piece needs work.

I apologize for not posting every day. I probably will not be able to post every day for awhile. But I will do my best to post as often as possible. :)
