Certain colors
paint our faces happy.
Our collective opinion,
marked by jerseys, flags,
stickers, foam hands,
scores a moment's
friendship, immortalized
beyond time, beyond space.
That each cheer
we cheer
impacts each play
of each game
is our only concern.

Riding on your coattails, Chris. This one is for Laker Nation, that so desperately needs to hope and cheer as a collective whole for our team to win tonight.
I like the compliment to my poem. It's looking good so far. I was going to go back and change the name to Fandom, but alas, it's too late.
Great use of cataloging the "things" that give fans identity. These are markers that fans bond through.
By the way-- I've missed all of you! Hope the summer class is going well. I'm teaching two advanced classes.
Congratulations on your Lakers win! Should be a classic Game 7!
Chris: don't let my offshoot of your poem dissuade you from changing your title, bud. I'll just change mine with yours then.
Brandi: I've missed you too. Two advanced summer classes sounds intense and rewarding at the same time. I've been prepping my class, which begins next Monday. Looking forward to your poems when you find the space to write.
Brent: thanks for the congratulations! Still a long way to go. My entire year will rise or fall with the outcome of tomorrow's game. I'll cross my fingers and toes for you and your Clipper's to avoid the seasonal jinx in '10-'11.
