Walls

It took the Achaeans ten years
To infiltrate one,
And the Germans an extra twenty
To topple another.
We respect walls
Because we can’t walk through them.
We trust in walls
Because they can’t talk.
What happens within them
Stays within them
At their depth’s volition.
They trap us;
They separate us;
And despite their strength,
One day they’ll fall
Like all things.

You're catching up Bro. I admire the fact that you've been so steady regardless of your obligation. I can't quite claim that these days. I like the ideas here. It fascinates me how much power walls and fences have. Once we actually se a constructed barrier we are so hesitant to even think about what's on the other side. Walls command respect. I think it's be cooler if you didn't actually say "walls" and just used the pronoun "They" I think that the title says it all and we don't need to hear it again necessarily. Good stuff.
