These lines will be read
by noone.
Stanzas scattered in
the wind.
Thrown at granite walls
pulverized
into dust
and left in the corners
of the room.
The ears they were
meant for
have long stopped hearing
but I still write them
because they're still
true.

I had this idea, but it lost steam halfway through.
This is really good. You say you lost steam halfway through but I think the second stanza fits this poem masterfully (to borrow a word from Edward). From the title to the last line, this poem is one of my favorites of yours. The metaphor works so well throughout. Your intimidating me with two really good poems in a row. I don't think I can keep up.
