Monotone Meeting

The incessant humming
of bees swarming
from his mouth.
Stingers slide along his lips.
The sound: ceaseless.

We the audience,
stare at freedom
on the other side of the pane.
Longing to escape the hive,
but no,
the talking drones on.
The meetings drone on.

I was in meetings all night and our Dean speaks in monotone. I did this while he was explaining something or other.

I like the beehive metaphor throughout. The use of ceaseless has a buzzing sound all its own and, yeah, it's awesome. I'm a sucker for puns and the use of drones at the end is well played. The word audience sticks out to me as workers might work better to extend the metaphor even further. Nice job.
