Asylum

They've finally taken over
And it's not all bad.
There's more laughter,
Albeit randomly,
But laughter nonetheless.
The mundane enjoys applause:
Look who woke up this morning.
Clap. Clap. Clap.
They've outlawed straight jackets
(Unless you're into that kind of thing),
So you can't differentiate
The orderlies from the inmates.
Even the outbursts entertain
Or maybe they always have.
Perhaps it's pill-induced—
Probably not.

Today was one long meeting and this is the poem it inspired.

I don't understand why they schedule a full day of meetings. This is proof that they are maddening. I like the clapping. It gives the sense of madness and that meaningless meeting clapping.
