the binary of love

neither hate
nor ambivalence

either rends the soul
or scourges the flesh

like the binary
of loss.

Nice parallel structure. I like the neither/nor and either/or setup and the last stanza fits this poem perfect. Your economy of words is excellent, telling so much with so little.

So being the Chris Nolan fan that you are, have you seen Inception yet? I saw it on Sunday. What'd you think?

I did watch Inception. It almost lived up to my unrealistic expectations, and, the more I digest it, the more I like it. Walking out of the theatre, I felt it fell a bit short on character: something that Nolan is usually spot on with. The exposition felt a bit forced at times too. And, there was one action set piece in the snow that dragged on a bit too long, and felt Michael Bayish. It wasn't as good as Memento, The Prestige, or either of the Batmans, in my opinion, but a mediocre Nolan film is grade A compared to most Hollywood flicks. What did you think?

I liked the movie, very creative. I agree in that it's not my favorite Nolan movie as Memento tops them all. I too thought the snow scene could have been better considering it was a dream within a dream within a dream. I was expecting some Timothy Leary shit. It was a well executed film and I'm definitely buying it on Blu-Ray because it deserves multiple viewing because I have my theories on if Cobb's dreaming or not.

Yeah, it's definitely going to be added to my collection as well. I really want to watch the film again to validate some of my own interpretations of the film and Cobb's fate. Again, the more I digest the film, the more I admire it, and just reading your post and letting it soak in a bit more gets me excited for Inception all over again.
