Friendship is
overrated.
Neither necessity.
Nor luxury.
But a burden.
A tax that rises
over years
and wealth.

I will contest.
Experience
Has taught me well.
Friendship is
Overrated.
Neither a necessity—
Nor a luxury—
But a burden—
A tax that rises
With years and wealth.
