Child's Play

Each letter—
A jungle gym
Built
To play upon.

Each word—
A hopscotch
Sketched
With sidewalk chalk.

Each space—
A quick breath.

Each line—
A ladder step
Climbed
To the slide’s top.

Each stanza—
A slim stone
Skipped
Across the sea.

I've hit a wall so this is what I got. I think it's a little formulaic but it'll have to do for today. Enjoy!

This is formulaic, Brent. Do better today. Just kidding, bud.

I like the ideas you present here. It combines two themes I've noticed developing for you and all of us on the blog: schooling and ars poetica. I wonder if you want to broaden outward one more time, and offer an "Each poem--" stanza. I'd also love to see a poem from you on Recess or P.E. in your schooling poems.
