Big Fat Carnivorous Elephants

This, a different jungle, far
from the warn cushions of my couch.
The furnishing here, sleek black leather.
The one rule, Darwinian ferocity. Carnivores
prowling in luxury roadsters, feeding
on burnt shredded backs, dawning
three-piece suits in plush seats
atop high rise suites, showing
the whites of their fangs, boasting
every cent banked, spent, roaring
at tax increases, dumb black democrats, bleeding
heart liberals, self loathing coastal elitist snobs.

My teeth, much too dull
to survive in this climate,
left to starve, feeding only
on the memory of home.

Isn't the state of politics depressing? By nature you're either one caricature or the other. It's ridiculous, and people are buying into it. I love the angst and fed-uppedness ( I know it's not a word, but still)

Yes, my friends in Virginia embody the extreme caricature of the right wing, Limbaughian persona: my political perspectives are laughed at and ridiculed, and apparently Obama is the reason why the Mayan's apocalyptic calendar will be validated.
